Hi Everyone. I hope I find you all well this week. Yes, it’s another visit to all things Connemara Marble as it seems you cannot get enough of Ireland’s ancient gemstone! That’s not surprising considering the enduring appeal of this beautiful green marble which is unique to the beautiful Connemara region in County Galway. I was lucky enough to visit this very special part of the world a couple of years ago. I met with Stephen Walsh who very kindly gave me a tour of his Connemara Marble quarry.
The Walsh family have been crafting this beautiful marble for 3 generations. The company was founded by 75 years ago by Stephen’s grandfather Thomas. Stephen joined the company in 1975 and in 1983 he purchased the quarry at Lissoughter. Check out the video below where Stephen tells us the story of Connemara Marble and I even get to mine some marble myself!
Connemara Marble Jewelry
The following are my top Connemara Marble jewelry picks from The Irish Store Collection. It includes some classic favorites as well as some exclusive lines that you won’t find anywhere else! And this weekend is the perfect time to shop with 20% off all Celtic Jewelry on orders over $99 plus free shipping!
1. Sterling Silver Celtic Cross Pendant
A stunning Celtic cross pendant which is exclusive to The Irish Store! The age-old Celtic cross has long been a favorite in Irish jewelry design and this one really stands out from the rest. Handcrafted in Ireland in sterling silver and featuring 4 trinity knots, exquisitely detailed beadwork and a central stone of Connemara Marble.
2. Connemara Marble Carved Trinity Knot Pendant
When you combine the sheer timeless beauty of Connemara Marble with the ancient Trinity knot design, you create a classic piece of Celtic jewelry. This striking Irish necklace features the age symbol of eternity carved to perfection on a woven cord.
3. Connemara Marble Celtic Tara Brooch
So next up on my list of favorites is a true classic. Our Connemara marble brooch takes inspiration from one of Ireland’s most precious treasures, the Tara Brooch. The Tara brooch was discovered in County Meath in the 19th century. It dates back to circa 700 AD. It is now on display in the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin. Beautifully crafted with finely detailed metal work and accents of Ireland’s ancient gemstone.
Connemara Marble Rosary Beads
Rosary beads are one of our most popular Connemara Marble items. I think Stephen puts it very well, ” When you hold the rosary, you can feel the quality of the workmanship. Rosary beads also have that extra special Irish religious significance.”
5. Connemara Marble Claddagh Ring
We end with another all-time customer favorite from The Irish Store collection. The Claddagh ring, with its message of love, friendship and loyalty makes the perfect Irish gift and ours is beautifully crafted in Ireland with an eye-catching heart of striking Connemara marble.
Shop of our full collection of Celtic Jewelry today and find the perfect gift from Ireland. And remember this weekend we’re offering 20% off all Celtic jewelry plus free shipping on orders over $99! Use code JEWELS.

My wife is a Neal as in O’Neal and one of my dearest friends and her little girls are related to Richard Henry Dana (Two Years Before the Mast). Shirley’s (wife) ancestors came over in the 1700s. Needless to say, I love the Irish and all things thereof (which you will see by my name is nothing short of miraculous). I am a descendant of Roger Williams (Rhode Island – 1629), William Bradford – (Plymouth MA -1620) and Moses Wheat – (Concord MA -1635). We hope to visit your beautiful land sometime and Dublin is on the list!
Hi Robert,
I hope you get the chance to visit us very soon!

Kind regards,
