Lulu’s Top 5 Turtleneck Sweaters
1. Aran Turtleneck Sweater
So the first of our turtleneck sweaters is for both him and her and it’s a true classic. The design features exquisitely detailed honeycomb stitching in the main body. The honeycomb stitch is said to be a representation of the hardworking honeybee and folklore tells us that this stitch was included in Aran sweaters to bring the wearer good fortune. The ribbed turtleneck is flattering and snug and the yarn is luxuriously soft merino wool.
2. Ladies Trellis Aran Sweater
Next up in our top 5 is one of my absolute favorite turtleneck sweaters from The Irish Store and I’ll definitely be adding this one to my fall/winter wardrobe this year. First of all the yarn is an absolutely irresistible cashmere/merino wool blend giving a touch of sheer luxury. The design features the trellis stitch throughout and it continues into the relaxed turtleneck. Finally, there are the irresistible colors on offer. Choose classic cream, stylish gray or soft pale blue.
3. The Kilcar Aran Sweater
Number 3 on the list is a real stunner. While the yarn is super soft merino and the Aran stitch craft is exquisite, what really sets this sweater apart is the beautifully detailed lattice design on the cuffs, waistband and turtleneck. The cream color is wonderfully versatile and looks great teamed with jeans for a classic casual look. We also have it in a gorgeous fuchsia pink to add some vibrant color to your fall/winter wardrobe.
4. The Glencar Turtleneck Sweater
In the 1960s, Grace Kelly appeared on a magazine cover wearing a turtleneck Aran sweater. This humble Irish fisherman’s sweater was instantly catapulted to international fame. Today, the Aran sweater is regarded as a style classic and last year it took its rightful place at a major fashion exhibition at New York’s Museum of Modern Art. The Glencar sweater takes inspiration from this timeless design. The honeycomb stitch takes centre stage, beautifully trimmed with classic cable and diamond stitches. It also comes in 3 gorgeous colors; classic cream, smart navy or warm beige and is available for both him and her.
5. The Celtic Turtleneck Sweater
Last but certainly not least on our list of turtleneck sweaters is a real winner. The turtleneck here is loose and relaxed and the super soft merino wool makes it a pleasure to wear. The stitching is bold with a striking diamond central design and beautifully detailed cable throughout. Again the problem here is which color to choose! There are classic cream, a soft denim blue and striking garnet red.
