An authentic Aran cardigan that’s a pleasure to wear and made to last
Each Aran sweater tells a story, rich in Aran Islander folklore. The main stitch here is the diamond, a depiction of the Islander fisherman’s nets and said to be knit into Aran sweaters of old to ensure a plentiful catch at sea. It’s filled with the moss stitch, named after the Carrageen moss seaweed which was collected by the Island dwellers from the shores of the Atlantic.
The age-old stitch patterns give this stunning mens shawl collar cardigan it’s authentic design and it has been given a stylish update to perfectly blend traditional Aran craftsmanship with an unmistakably modern look. It fastens up into a classic v-neck with football buttons and there’s a neat shawl collar and two-front pockets to keep out the chill. Then there’s the yarn- soft merino wool.
